Georgia's Largest Sassaffras Tree

Sunflower Farm is the proud home of Georgia's largest Sassafras Tree, as named by the Georgia Forestry Commission.

Early Americans boiled the roots of the tree to make sassafras tea a
popular old time drink in many parts of the South.

Root Beer

The roots of the Sassafras tree are also used to make Sassparilla; the key ingredient in Root Beer... thus the name!
